Installing this at the top of our stairs took maybe fifteen minutes, and it feels rock solid once it's mounted. The walk-thru door swings both ways and latches every time, which matters a lot when you're carrying a toddler in one arm. My two-year-old has yanked on it plenty and it hasn't budged.
